Honoring Those that Serve the Education Community

I learn so much from my PLN, and would like to recognize some of the folks that work so hard to keep educators informed… So here are my nominations for the 2011 Edublog Awards. Thanks to all who add to the body of knowledge and take the time to share – We are all better for it!

  • Best ed tech / resource sharing blog – Free Tech for Teachers: http://www.freetech4teachers.com/ – This continues to be the best resource for finding the right tool for the job!
  • Most influential blog post – http://mindshift.kqed.org/ – Mind/Shift is willing to take the controversial position and stand behind it. They make people think.
  • Best teacher blog – http://sunnydaysinsecondgrade.blogspot.com/ – Great examples of fun activities that make me want to be a second grader again…
  • Best School Administrator blog – The Principal of Change: http://georgecouros.ca/blog/ – George gets it. Period. He is genuine, funny, and a model for administrators everywhere.
  • Best free web tool – Diigo: http://www.diigo.com – Great for students, teachers, sharing resources, highlighting, bookmarking, and so much more.
  • Best open PD / unconference / webinar series – RSCOM: http://reformsymposium.com/ – I attended many sessions last year and was impressed with the organization and quality of the presenters.
